From the mouths of babes
This is another post about G- that's why I’m posting another baby picture of her. I just love this picture. Sometimes I miss my baby girl. But I do love my big girl.
Anyway . . .
The other night, she and I were reading a Cinderella book (not the Disney version). The story said something about how Cinderella was treated like a slave by her step mother and sisters. Being the curious little girl that she is, G wanted to know what a slave is. Here’s how the conversation went.
G: Mommy, what does slave mean?
Me: Well, a slave is a person who does all your work for you. A slave does the cooking, cleaning and other chores around the house.
G: Oh, then are you our slave?
Me: No, I’m the mommy.
G: (looking very confused) But, you do all the work around here and no one ever helps you. Not even Daddy.

You should send that one into Readers' Digest. They put those cute stories at the bottom of articles :) For laughs, of course :)
LOL That's cute.
OH MY HECK I'M LAUGHING SO HARD RIGHT NOW!!! That is soooo funny. Amazing how tre it is, too!!!
I meant to spell 'true'. Sorry, I'm typing with one hand cuz I'm holding Londyn....
Man, that girl is smart - she is dead on...
Well there you have it!! I love the things kids pick up on and say.
Oh we have had that conversation many times! I think 4 is when it comes up...kids know the truth! And what the heck is up with Daddies not helping at all!
whoops. don't you hate it when they point out the obvious?? guess it's time to ask daddy for a raise....
Oh that is HI-LARIOUS!!! I love it...I am about to do a post about my "half-way Harry" you know him don't you? The person who "half-way" cleans up dinner and "half-way" puts away the laundry and well, you get the picture...So funny that a four year old is so observant!
thats great! I love it. I wonder how your DH felt when he heard about it. lol
I guess kids call it like they see it. Sometimes mommy = slave anyway. Good for her for picking up on it. I'm sure your husband loves the story as well.
She is so funny....and honest, too!! I'm sure Ben enjoyed that little story, huh?? :o)
OH MY GOSH! THat is so stinking funny. I love that!
Oh, how wise.
It is just the truth, so sad, but so true! I always tell Kaitlyn,"What do I look like your maid?" Not even knowing what a maid is she usually says, "Yeeesss!"
