A new week . . . finally!

Can I just say how happy I am that last week is finally over. We finished up the weekend by having the stomach flu: fevers of 103 and lots of puke. Not much fun at all. Thankfully, today is Monday, and the slate is wiped clean. I don't think I've ever been so happy for a Monday. Tummies are feeling better, and there are no blizzards in the forecast. I just know its going to be a better week. Especially since I have today and tomorrow off of work. Today is President's Day, and I don't have to work. So the girls and I are going to have fun - just as soon as I think of something we can do for really cheap. Then tomorrow, I'm taking a mental health day - the girls are going to daycare, and I'm going to Alta by myself. Wednesday is Brynlee's birthday - it also happens to be Grandpa Hutch's and Uncle Ben's birthdays as well - so we have parties on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Its going to be difficult to stick to my diet, but probably worth it.

I also need some advice from my readers. I need a new pair of jeans - one that doesn't show my butt-crack when I bend over. I used to love American Eagle and Abercrombie jeans, but they don't fit my body well anymore. Maybe I just need a idifferent cut or something. I've got fairly long legs (need a 32-34 inch inseam), and I have fairly thin hips. So anyway - what type of jeans do y'all love? Help me find a new style!

Oh - and while you're in the advice-giving mood, give me some ebay selling tips. I know that Carrie and Janae are gurus, and I'd love some advice. What is the best way to list stuff? And how do you know how much to charge for shipping? I've bought a lot, but never been successful at selling stuff. HELP please!

I'm a big fan of the Kut from the Kloth jeans (not a fan of using 'k' instead of a 'c' however). They fit well and while they aren't cheap (usually around $85 at Nordstrom) they do go on sale. I got my last pair for around $59. You really should check them out -- they have several styles. I like the ones without the back flap pockets best.

I like 7 jeans but they are SU-PER expensive, I also like the Gap long and lean fit...let's see, I have tried to Kut jeans and I like them as well, they fit higher up on your waist so it helps with the g's showing...I also like Lucky Brand, depending on the fit...hope that helps...as for ebay-I am going to read all of the advice that you get so I can gain some tips as well, but I do LOVE to sell stuff on KSL.com-it's awesome, my husband and I use it all the time. Sorry for the lengthy post-glad it's a new week and have a fun couple of days off!

Two days off? So lucky! I'm stuck here at work.

Wednesday is Ellie's birthday too! Hooray for Feb 20.

I like jeans from the Buckle. My favorite brand is Big Star. They are super long. I also like Chip and Pepper jeans. YOu can get them online if you want to pay full price, but costco has them in fairly often for about 70. Costco gets 7 jeans in too which I also like, but they usually go fast and I can't find my size.

I just got a pair of Big Star from the Buckle and i love them. I also love the Modbe jeans. They're not as low-rise as a lot of jeans and they still have a really cute cut. There are two styles: https://alison.mymodbe.com/web/t/Modbe2/Content.aspx?PageID=6661&ItemID=1756
and

My sister sells them. She lives in Lehi. You could go try on a pair on your lunch break if you want!

I love Big Star too, forgot about those but they are awesome and not AS bad as the 7's as far as price goes...

I'm glad you are feeling better and that you are taking a mental health day. We don't do that as often as needed. I'm not the one to ask about jeans since I have 1 pair that fit me well right now. If I can lose about 10 lbs I will have a whole closet full of seven, rock and republic and lucky jeans. I like to shop at the buckle. I walk in and ask for the highest cut in the waist they have. For ebay...where do I start??? I only ship priority so I can use the post offices priority boxes that are free. I've had people ask me to ship parcel post, but then I had to to buy boxes. So now I will only ship priority. You can find out what to charge by going to www.usps.com and it will tell you what to charge based on the weight. I have a scale so I know exactly what to charge. I print labels right from my computer so I don't have to stand in line at the p.o. I ship almost every day so that's important. It's important to price your items correctly because it sucks to have to pay ebay fees (listing fees) when your item doesn't sell. It really depends on what you sell. Most of my auctions are my girls' boutique clothes that go for $100.-$300. per outfit (no, that's not what I paid). For some of our other clothes I sometimes do better selling them in lots on craigslist or ksl.com or even taking them to kid to kid. Then I don't have ebay fees which can really add up. Pictures are important too. For instance, if you have tons of little girls clothes to sell, you might want to buy a mani. Sometimes people won't bid on items that are laying on the floor. To save yourself some trauma, make sure you fully disclose any flaws with the item. I also provide measurements so I don't get a million emails asking length of shoe, etc. It's pretty easy to list. If you click on sell at the top of the page, it pretty much walks you through it. I've been doing ebay for the last 4 years almost every day so I have lots of things I've learned. I will probably comment again if I think of more.

Who cares about jeans!?! I just want that body! :) I really liked silver jeans the last time I bought cute jeans. But I refuse to buy expensive jeans for this body...So I have two pair I wear now. So sad! Good luck finding some heiny covering jean goodness.

One more thought on the jeans that I forgot. I got my 7s on ebay. I went to Nordstrom and tried on tons of pairs and styles and wrote down the ones I liked. Then I just started bidding on my size and style. I got a pair for $45 and it was worth the hassle.

I hope you have a better week!
My favorite jeans are Citizens right now. They are a little higher waisted and come really long (I usually have to have about a foot or two tailored off). I just went to Nordstrom and tried on every pair of jeans in the store until I found a pair I liked. Take a really honest but kind person with you. I took my sister in law and we had so much fun just trying on jeans. Good luck and have fun

Not a good person to ask about jeans, but I'm glad you are all feeling better.

Christie...You're so cute. I love reading your posts!! I, too, LOVED Abercrombie pants and jeans when I was skinny. For some reason, they were my very favorites. Now, I wouldn't be able to even get one leg on....but I hold out hope for someday!! I love True Religion jeans, too!! Those are so cute, I think!! As for the ebay thing...I agree with Janae. I always use the Post Office supplies. I mail from my home, and use a scale, so it's so easy. I love it....but it is time consuming. Mostly listing the item....and taking all the pictures. But it is worth it, in the end, I think. I've had pretty good luck. I don't sell my items for as much money as Janae...but I have got a lot of my money back on some things. (if that makes sense....) Anyway, I hope you had fun at Alta today!! How great that you took a mental health day!! I hope your family is feeling better, too. It sucks to be sick. Well, I'm off to bed. I'm excited to find out what kind of jeans you end up going for!! :o)

Can I just say how awesome y'all are! I just bid on (and won) a pair of 7s for $26 (including shipping). I was so excited to find them, that I'm not even sure if they'll fit. If they don't, I'll just relist them. I may even make money!

Christie, you should try the three different styles of Jeans that Old Navy rencently came out with. They're made for different body types--the flirt, the diva, and the sweetheart. They also make each style in Long length. I wear the sweetheart I love it. It isn't as much of a low-rider as most jeans so it doesn't show crack when you bend over.
