Although I'm not an avid TV watcher, I'll admit that I've been GLUED to the Olympics. This year especially, I just can't seem to get enough of the competition, athleticism, and patriotism. But what gets me the most, is when they show the parents of the athletes. I can't even imagine the pride they must feel for their children competing in the Olympics. It makes me want to encourage my children to "be all they can be."
My girls have been taking gymnastics for a year, and while they'll both likely be too tall to ever have a serious career, they love it. They both seem to be fairly athletic, and have advanced quite well. They are both already in the classes for the age group above them (meaning Bryn's in the 3 year old class, and G's in the 5s). I think they're moving along quite nicely. I actually took my camera to class last week to snap some pics. Although they're not the best ever, at least I can document their progress.
Here's some of G:
And now a few of Bryn (there aren't as many of her, because she got hurt by the springs in the vault):

Oh, her foot makes me so sad. I hate to see kids get hurt, but it seems like it didn't even bother her.
Oh how much fun is that! Poor baby with the boo boo on her foot, though. What a trooper! I love that last pic :)
Super cute!! I LOVED gymnastics as a kid :) Poor Brynn's foot! Ouch!
That is so cute, what fun for them and you! I love the last pic of Bryn, she looks like a little pixie! She seems to be fairly tough to smile with a cut like that on her foot.
So fun! great pictures! Oh and I got your address off of the Venis board, so as long as its right I have you added. :)
Bryn totally got over her scratch in seconds - and I know it hurts because she's still limping on it 4 days later. My kids are nothing if not tough!
They are SO cute!! I can't believe how they're growing up!! They look like they're having SO much fun. I can't wait until Bella can take gymnastics. :o)
OH! That is so cute! I totally agree though. I was thinking how the parents would feel, and I just couldn't imagine the pride you would feel. Watching your child push themselves that way. G looks pretty good there! Where do they go to gym at?
What a trooper to get hurt like that. I'd be out of Olympic contention forever. Very cute. I wish I could take Ellie to stuff like that, but that is more her mom's side of things. Guess I'll just work on getting Landon into the MLB.
Did the girls watch the gymnastics Olymics with you? What did they think?
My brother was into gymnastics as a kid, but then he hit puberty. He's 6'2. Not really built for it now, hahaha.
Cute little gymnasts. Who knows...they may be the next Shawn Johnson. Hope the foot heals fast.
OK....It's been a whole week and still no post. ;o) I'm hoping you're just having too much fun.... I miss reading your fun stuff.
So cute... and is that Gymcats? If it's run by Kerry Griggers (at least, that was her maiden name), we were sorority sisters at Utah State. Small world!
Look how fun!!? They are so cute, I see a great future! :)
