One cat - free to a good home

I have asthma. I've had it my entire life, and have learned to live with it. But lately, its been much worse. So, about a month ago, my regular doctor sent me to a specialist to get my breathing under control. This new Dr's first item of busisness was to figure out what was causing my asthma to be so bad, and she sent me for a battery of tests. The results were in today, and she had me back at her office to go over the results. She was amazed to find that I was allergic to every single thing she tested me for - in fact, she told me I was among the worst she'd ever tested. And the thing I am the most allergic to: cats. In fact, anything over 17.51 kU/L is considered a very high allergic reaction, and I tested 66.0 for cat dander. Off the charts.

It goes without saying that my poor kitty needs to find a new home. I've always known I was a little allergic to her, but I never realized it was this bad. Ben rescued her from the humane society when we were newlyweds, so she's been with us for almost 7 years. She's a great cat, and I'll be sad to see her go. But of course my health is more important.

So - if anyone is interested - here's a free cat to a good home.

And just as an item of interest, the thing I was second most allergic to was dog dander. Guess there was a reason I needed to get rid of Burton.

Oh that stinks that you have to get rid of a kitty who has been with you so long, but of course you have to find a place for her. I'm sorry to say that I'm not a cat person and I'm either allergic or I pretend to be. The last cat Jeff tried to bring home got the boot. But I'll keep my eyes out for anyone else that might be interested.

Oh man, that sucks that you are allergic to so many things! What all did they test you for? Sorry you have to get rid of kitty. :( I wish I could take her.

OH boo! I love cats. I wish I could take yours from you, but I live too far away and in a house that won't let me for now....grrr.

Hang in there in the meantime! :)

Sorry, I'm not a kitty person, either, but I will let you know if I hear of anyone who wants one! Hopefully your allergies will improve!

I hate cats. As a matter of fact, I hate any animal that has to do its business in my house. Dogs are okay - they potty outside. No critters that bathroom indoors - litterbox or not.

Christie, that is so sad! I'm allergic to cats too, very allergic, but I found a magic medicine that has cured me. I'm completely allergy free to my cat now! And if it weren't for the fact that your cat and mine look almost identical, I might consider taking yours. But it would get really confusing.

Sorry about your kitty, Ryan is allergic too, so we have no kitty. I miss cats, although I don't miss the litter box routine! Hopefully you find a great home for her!
