Its raining, its pouring

Its been raining for the past 2 days - and its a wonderful thing. Given the fact that we live in a desert (or semi-arid steppe if I'm remembering my physical geography correctly), I'm pretty much always happy with precipitation. The problem is though, that when we actually get a lot of rain, the water doesn't always know where to go.

I layed in bed last night, listening to the rain, and hoping that all my down spouts were facing the right way (away from the foundation). So when I woke up this morining, I went out to inspect. The down spouts were all facing the appropriate way, but I did find a lovely pond in an area that was previously just grass.

Here's the view from my lovely broken kitchen window.

And from my back patio:
Maybe rain isn't always such a good thing. I hope the water is staying put and out of my basement.

Eek! I would be nervous about that water too. I am loving the rain too - but only if it rains enough today to cancel baseball. tee hee hee I am evil...

Ooh, I hope you didn't get flooded! I love rain too. Even though we get so much of it that it looks like a rainforest sometimes. :D BTW, have you noticed that a lot of Utahns call rain "moisture"? That used to drive me CRAZY.

It can stop raining here anytime. I have weeds taller than my flowers in the lawn border! But I can't go pull them as long as it's raining, so I can stay inside and read more blogs.

Hmm . . . maybe this incessant rain isn't such a bad thing after all.

I love the rain, espeically thunderstorms, when it's warm out. Today, however, it feels more like February or March. I'm not diggin it.

I do not like the rain personally, however, I do love to look out and see how GREEN my grass is and how well my flowers are doing...I do not however, like being stuck inside when it is now summer and the pools are open and such...I hope your water stays put-that looks sort of scary as far as getting into your basement...

ummm, that's a lot of water! I hope it stays out of your basement, too. I like the rain, I'm just sick of the cold. I shouldn't need to wear a sweater in June!!!

I've been glad about the rain because we haven't turned on our sprinklers yet and my water bill is still fairly low. But that is a lot of water out there.

as long as it's not dripping down into your basement, you are good. maybe you can have a redneck pool now, just like me.
